Research Systems

The core activity of the company has historically been the manufacturing of in-vitro pharmacological research setups, which constitute more than half of its operations. These setups are comprehensive systems designed for conducting in-vitro pharmacological experiments, with a focus on isolated perfusion experiments on various tissues such as the heart, muscle stripes, vessel rings, and neural tissues. Remarkably, these systems continue to be available nowadays. The success of our solutions can be attributed to three key factors:

1. Quality: Our products are known for their high quality, ensuring reliable performance and accurate results in pharmacological research.

2. Economical Pricing: Despite their advanced features and capabilities, our solutions are offered at economically reasonable prices, making them accessible to a wide range of customers and institutions.

3. After-Sales Customer Care: We prioritize customer satisfaction by providing excellent after-sales service and support. Our dedicated team ensures that customers receive assistance and guidance whenever needed, enhancing their overall experience with our products.

Our range of isolated heart perfusion devices encompasses four distinct types, each offering reliable, economically feasible, and flexible solutions for analyzing the extracorporeal circulation of small mammalian hearts in pharmacological and physiological research. These devices cater to a wide spectrum of experimental needs, ranging from simple digestion studies to complex working heart experiments.

Our sophisticated designs and integrated hardware-software solutions empower researchers with precise control over perfusion parameters and enable comprehensive assessment of cardiac function across various experimental settings. By combining advanced technology with user-friendly interfaces, we ensure that researchers can conduct their experiments with confidence and accuracy, obtaining valuable insights into cardiovascular physiology and pharmacology.

An isolated tissue bath serves as a specialized chamber where isolated tissues are placed to administer drugs or electrical stimulation, allowing researchers to measure their function accurately. Typically, the tissue in the organ bath is oxygenated with carbogen and immersed in a solution such as Krebs-Henseleit, Tyrode, or lactated Ringer solution to maintain physiological conditions.

This setup finds extensive use in pharmacology and physiology research, particularly in studying the contraction of smooth muscle tissues. Smooth muscle contraction in various organs and tissues, including the ileum, colon, vas deferens, trachea, bladder, corpus cavernosum, and blood vessels such as aortic rings or strips, can be investigated using isolated tissue baths.

MDE provides a reliable and multifunctional research tool for in-vitro nerve tissue experiments. Our in-vitro superfusion release setup enables the collection of the most sensitive neurotransmitters released from nerve tissues during electrical or chemical stimulation.

MDE's small vessel myograph setups are specifically designed for investigating blood vessels under isometric conditions, with internal diameters ranging from 60 μm to 10 mm—dimensions too small for conventional organ baths. These vessels are prepared as ring structures by threading them onto two stainless steel or tungsten wires, securely fastened to supports. One support is connected to a micrometer, enabling precise control of vessel circumference, while the other is linked to a force transducer for tension measurement. The entire setup is housed in a chamber filled with physiological salt solution at 37°C, ensuring optimal conditions. Vessels in our Wire Myographs remain viable for several hours.

During experiments, vessel circumference is maintained constant, and they are observed under isometric conditions. Compounds are introduced directly into the chamber, and vessel tension is continuously monitored. This setup allows for the assessment of vessel reactivity to various compounds and facilitates comparison between vessels from patients or test groups and those of controls, in terms of both reactivity and morphology.

The CARDIOFISH system represents one of the most unique developments of our company. This innovative system offers the capability to examine the electrocardiogram (ECG) of adult zebrafish. Its versatility makes it an invaluable tool in various fields, including pharmacology, safety pharmacology, and toxicology.

The MDE isolated liver or kidney perfusion system provides researchers with a versatile and precise tool for studying organ function and pharmacological processes. By allowing the precise manipulation of perfusate composition, this system facilitates investigations into drug metabolism, organ function, and responses to various interventions.

The system maintains the isolated organ function in an evaporation chamber lying horizontally. This means that the whole isolated organ is not hanging in an unsupported position, so the vasculature is not deformed by twisting or weight. Additionally, the organ is not immersed in a buffer liquid, so extra hydrostatic pressure does not affect the intravascular pressure inside the organ.

MDE provides a comprehensive solution for in vitro pharmacology/physiology experiments. To ensure the smooth operation of our systems, we offer reliable amplifiers for measuring force, pressure, temperature, and action potentials. All amplifiers are equipped with analog output and fixed-value calibration signals to enhance their flexibility for use with different DAQ systems. To broaden the range of scientific areas where our solution can be applied, we also offer reliable stimulator electronics to better serve our clients. While all electronics can be used standalone, we recommend consulting with us regarding the intended usage and desired setup to better support your goals.
