Small Vessel Myograph setups

MDE's small vessel myograph setups are specifically designed for investigating blood vessels under isometric conditions, with internal diameters ranging from 60 μm to 10 mm—dimensions too small for conventional organ baths. These vessels are prepared as ring structures by threading them onto two stainless steel or tungsten wires, securely fastened to supports. One support is connected to a micrometer, enabling precise control of vessel circumference, while the other is linked to a force transducer for tension measurement. The entire setup is housed in a chamber filled with physiological salt solution at 37°C, ensuring optimal conditions. Vessels in our Wire Myographs remain viable for several hours.

During experiments, vessel circumference is maintained constant, and they are observed under isometric conditions. Compounds are introduced directly into the chamber, and vessel tension is continuously monitored. This setup allows for the assessment of vessel reactivity to various compounds and facilitates comparison between vessels from patients or test groups and those of controls, in terms of both reactivity and morphology.

We are manufacturing myograph systems since 2004 and have numerous references especially from Central Eastern European region and the U.S.

The MDE Myograph system offers several significant advantages:

  • Original Mulvany Setup: Our small vessel Myograph system is based on the original Mulvany setup, ensuring heating through water circulation. This results in superior heat stability, chamber accuracy, and noise reduction compared to electric heating devices.
  • High Amplification and Rigid Transducers: Our devices feature high amplification (x10,000) and rigid force measuring transducers, enhancing their durability and stability over time.
  • Calibration Kit: Each system comes with a special calibration kit included in the base setup, facilitating easy and repeatable calibration processes.
  • Compatibility with Isosys and Other DAQ Systems: The system includes our Data Acquisition system called Isosys, but it is also compatible with other DAQ systems, offering flexibility in data acquisition.

Multi-chamber myograph systems are widely preferred due to their ability to measure the contractility of multiple tissues simultaneously.

With a simple design and easy setup, they are suitable for both physiological and pharmacological investigations. Additionally, our systems are manufactured using only non-toxic materials, ensuring safety and reliability.
